Henin reportedly coming back

Postby Forehand_lob on Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:23 pm

Surprising no one, Henin is supposed to announce her comeback tomorrow.

Good thing Kim was able to sneak one slam in...

But I'm seriously happy that Justine is making a comeback (although I still won't be doing my happy dance until after the press conference.) I just hope she comes back as strong as when she was before she left. It would be a shame if she made came back and not find her best form nor her desire to win grand slams.

I'm not sure Henin will be at her top level right away. Her game is not as simple as Clijsters, who just hits really hard and runs really well.

The timing will take a little longer for Henin.

I think it should also be considered that Clijsters started training in February and didn't come back until August. If Henin starts practicing at the beginning of October, she might be ready by April/early May. I don't think she quit playing at all like Clijsters during her retirement, but I think she would need more time to build up.

Its official now and she is coming back in 2010. So should have enough time to prepare. Agree with funches that she will need more time than Kim to settle in. Her best chance for slam is at RG, but #1 on her wish list will be Wimbledon.

Great news that Henin is coming back! I'm hoping to see a spectacular return to form from her like Clijsters at the US. In any case, the return of those two will certainly shake up women's tennis. Nothing against Venus and Serena, but it will be really good for them to have some more serious contenders on the circuit.
