Exactly! When Mariah Carey drops an album what would she rather have #1 on Billboard or just coming in at #4?

It's about being the best...I think any tennis player, athlete or performer wants to be the best, especially if there are records to be broken and money to be made.

Of course everyone wants to be the best. No one is saying that Roddicks doesn't want to be number 1. What we're arguing here is that -- in spirte of all the criticism he takes -- he's already an amazing player.

But, I guess (according to you) if you're not number 1, you're a hack. Geez, I can only imagine how you must feel about Radek Stepanek. I suppose he should just hang up his racket now?
